    What's a fair commission on a marketplace? Well, how much work is it doing for you? Here's a list of leading marketplace take rates (commissions). Etsy is 7%. UberEats is 32%. Leading expert networks charge you ~70% to connect with experts who are likely also on other networks.     When technological change continues to accelerate and the budgets to understand and effectively navigate it are being constrained, something, as Nancy Meyers says, has gotta give. Every day I talk to people tasked with helping their organizations and clients navigate the future – leading consultants, innovation teams at the world's biggest banks, strategy teams at large CPGs, design agencies and transformation studios, etc. etc. – and they all find themselves having to do more with less. Is this fair? To the teams, these organizations' long-term health and market positioning, and the shareholders who will bear the brunt of this cyclical shorterm-ism? No. But it doesn't matter. It is the hand we are dealt. And the question is what will come from it. History and my own experiences suggest that constraints breed resourcefulness and creative solutions. How will we more creatively invest in the future?– whether to build, buy, partner, or sit still and wait? What new models will emerge? At Exsight we're focused on using the latent experience and insights of the people disrupting your markets to better understand them. And doing that at a 50-75% discount to traditional expert networks. I don't know if we're the creative solution that emerges here and I don't care.     Costco Wholesale is often cited as having one of the best business models in the retail industry. It is a model – low margins, modest membership fees, and HIGH customer satisfaction – that we at Exsight greatly respect and are seeking to emulate in the expert network market. Wish us luck!???
