Recently I had the pleasure to deliver a case study presentation on the “Potential and Future of Sunflower Isolate”, focusing on the work we do at ExSeed Ltd. A sustainable and growing food system is a cornerstone challenge and addressing it will take lots of work. Contributions should come from academia, deeptech startups, established corporates and national bodies alike. HiConf provided one such fruitful environment. More countries, markets and audiences recognise the need to commercialise sunflower isolate and ExSeed Ltd.’s pioneering work provides a valuable perspective. It was great to share our insights and practices to the engaging South Korean audience, as well as delegates from Germany, Saudi Arabia and many other countries. In a subsequent panel, it was delightful to sit down with Sina Albanese, Patrick Buehr, Viola Jinhui Chen and Tao Zhang, and discuss challenges and opportunities facing the alternative protein market in the next decade. Given the right approach and serious work by deeptech, manufacturing and retail players, the market is yet to see its peak. South Korean foodtech and deeptech scene is buzzing and eager to see international best practices, focusing efforts to collaborate and accelerate local innovations. ?
