Have you swapped out your summer scents yet? Here are a few ideas to get you started and some things to think about when you shop for your signature Autumn scent. While summer calls for floral top notes, in the fall we can lean into the blooms of a fall harvest. These will include notes of apple, pumpkin, sugared berries, and figs. These top notes will drift into warm, nutty notes of cinnamon, cardamom, or clove. Although the typical notes of rose, iris, or jasmine aren’t as popular for fall they can also be snuck in for unexpected pops that make the fragrance even more complex. Finally, we can wrap up our scent with woody, spicy, and earthy notes of, wood, vanilla, amber, caramel, and musk calling comfort back to the forefront as a hearty and sultry base. Experimenting with notes like this can be an exciting way to find a fall fragrance that quickly becomes YOUR signature. During your next custom perfume-making experience, try mixing and matching these notes to create a comforting, yet dynamic original scent!
