Companies are firing recent grads at alarming rates!!! So says Newsweek/Intelligent.com. This topic is near and dear to my heart having counseled 10,000+ students LIVE, 50,000+ with EYP curriculum and training, and millions through advice via media exposure. I've literally had students shyly approach me crying and even shaking with anxiety, not feeling ready. Most interventions designed to support "career readiness" are simply not enough to build confidence and clarity. It's clear that the gap between education and the workforce needs to be bridged. Both educators and employers need to prioritize preparing young professionals for success—not just with knowledge but with context, practical skills, communication, and professionalism. We must work together to equip Gen Z with the real-world hard and soft skills they need to thrive.
