In the world of architecture and interior design, change often feels disruptive, leading to uncertainty. Yet, it is precisely this change that holds enormous potential to drive organizational success and innovation. Here are three key insights to consider: ? Transformative Possibilities: Change can be a catalyst for creativity, prompting us to rethink traditional office layouts. As we move away from the stereotypical corner offices and isolated windowed spaces, we can create environments that foster collaboration and inclusivity, giving everyone a voice in the design process. ? Redefining Spaces: The shift towards more open and accessible workspaces not only enhances productivity but also reflects a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). By reimagining how we use space, we ensure that every team member has equal access to resources and opportunities. ? Courage to Innovate: Embracing change requires courage. It challenges us to rethink norms and to be bold in our design choices. Let’s champion environments that support flexibility, encourage creativity, and ultimately drive success. At MCG Explore Design, we believe that the courage to embrace change is essential for shaping the future of our workspaces. Let’s explore these opportunities together! #MCGAlaska #ExploreDesign #Explore #Design #Inspiration #Innovation #Architecture #InteriorDesign #ArchitectureDaily #Alaska #Anchorage

Meet Halie Starweir, our talented Marketing Coordinator, whose vibrant background in marketing and textiles brings a unique flair to our team! ?? Halie’s journey in design truly began during her college years as a design assistant for an interiors firm, where she fell in love with the art of creating beautiful spaces. Her passion for fashion flourished through incredible experiences, such as volunteering for New York Fashion Week and connecting with renowned designers like Gucci and Ferragamo. As a former wardrobe stylist, she has a gift for instilling confidence in her clients — something she brings to our marketing efforts every day. But Halie’s story is more than just creativity; it’s also about connection. She became engaged in the Anchorage Museum’s expansion wing, a testament to her deep ties to the community. As a new mom, she’s redefined her career to prioritize joy and creativity while striving for a greener, more compassionate future. Halie actively engages in local politics and volunteers for meaningful campaigns, proving that her commitment to change extends beyond design. Join us in celebrating Halie’s journey and the invaluable energy she brings to MCG Explore Design! ? #MCGAlaska #ExploreDesign #Explore #Design #Inspiration #Innovation #Architecture #InteriorDesign #ArchitectureDaily #Alaska #Anchorage

Warmth and tradition are the cornerstones of impactful Alaskan design, as beautifully exemplified by the Cook Inlet Native Head Start (CINHS) project. ?? Completed in early 2021, this unique school is a testament to the seamless integration of Alaska Native culture with contemporary educational practices. Nestled in the serene Chester Valley greenbelt, the CINHS stands out with its beadwork-inspired exterior and thoughtfully designed curving classroom wings, celebrating the Dena’ina Athabascan heritage. Each classroom serves as a nurturing haven, featuring warm finishes, heated floors, and gentle lighting that fosters a sense of comfort and safety for the children. The innovative central firepit and smoke hole light fixtures symbolize the heart of community sharing — where stories and wisdom are exchanged in a space that truly feels like home. With direct access to inspiring playgrounds, children not only engage in play but also connect with traditional ways of life, fostering a deep appreciation for their cultural roots. In our ever-evolving world, the Cook Inlet Native Head Start stands as a powerful reminder that design can transcend aesthetics, creating spaces that honor history while inspiring future generations. #MCGAlaska #ExploreDesign #Explore #Design #Inspiration #Innovation #Architecture #InteriorDesign #ArchitectureDaily #Alaska #Anchorage

Just as nature adapts and flourishes, so should our educational environments. ???????? When families are tasked with choosing a school, they instinctively gravitate toward spaces that feel welcoming, bright, and kid-friendly. After all, no one wants to send their child to a sterile, institutional building that stifles creativity and joy. That's why at MCG Explore Design, we prioritize designs that not only look appealing but also foster a sense of belonging and excitement for learning. ?? #MCGAlaska #ExploreDesign #Explore #Design #Inspiration #Innovation #Architecture #InteriorDesign #ArchitectureDaily #Alaska #Anchorage

Authenticity isn't always comfortable, but it's where the real magic happens. At MCG Explore Design, we believe that the best design pushes past the expected, exploring spaces (and feelings) that we haven’t encountered before. Authenticity lives in those raw moments, whether they show up as humor, sadness, or even a bit of discomfort. These emotions unite us, drawing us in as deeply as any beautiful structure or space, because they speak to the core of who we are. ? #MCGAlaska #ExploreDesign #Explore #Design #Inspiration #Innovation #Architecture #InteriorDesign #ArchitectureDaily #Alaska #Anchorage
