Explore Evansville had a blast at the Junior Achievement USA JobSpark Career Fair! ???Through interactive games, tourism trivia, and a competitive hospitality relay, 8th graders got hands-on with the world of Hospitality and Tourism. Races were won, records were broken, and most importantly, students learned about the exciting opportunities in tourism before taking the leap into high school. Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun and learning!

???Big News for Evansville! ?? We're thrilled to announce that Explore Evansville has been awarded two 2024 Champion of Economic Impact Awards in Sports Tourism by Sports Destination Management! ???? The 2024 IHSAA State Wrestling Tournament and the US Figure Skating Theatre on Ice National Competition generated nearly $7 million for our local economy and brought in over 10,000 athletes and spectators resulting in almost 6,000 in hotel room nights! This means more support for our community, local businesses, and citywide growth. ???? A huge shoutout to our incredible event partners, local organizing committees, and volunteers—your hard work and dedication make moments like these possible. ???? ?? Bringing Team Spirit to the Table??? Today at the office, we spiced things up with a friendly fall soup cookoff! ?? Colleagues went head-to-head, serving up their best recipes. Each one completely different and delicious! Congrats to Aaron King, aka Soup King, for winning with his showstopping chili! ???? We also want to thank our office neighbors for being the expert judges and helping us crown the winner. Events like this remind us that team bonding can happen in many ways, and it’s a great way to celebrate the season together. ?? #TeamBuilding #FallFlavors #SoupKing #OfficeCulture #EmployeeEngagement #SoupCookoff #Collaboration

Today was the last Eclipse Task Force meeting before the Total Solar Eclipse next Monday! We were excited to debut our Giant Solar Eclipse Glasses and hear from local experts to ensure our community is prepared. Our President and CEO, Alexis Berggren, reported on a wide variety of topics like the weather forecast for the day, rising hotel occupancy, time of totality, and much more. We also heard from Eclipse enthusiasts that underscored how significant this event is, law enforcement and their efforts to keep us safe, and event organizers on their event updates. These meetings have proven to be beneficial in ensuring the Evansville community members and organizers are on the same page. They have helped solve problems before they arise by bringing together several different representatives from different types of organizations. Take the time time to make your business shine! Sports fans will appreciate Evansville’s history, as it is home to historic Bosse Field, the first municipally owned sports stadium in the nation and the third-oldest ballpark still in regular use for professional baseball.
