In this recent article, we are beginning to see how even industry leaders face challenges with qualified payment amount (QPA) accuracy for No Surprises Act eligible claims in respect to CMS guidelines. The result of the audit referenced here found some QPA’s were calculated both under and over what should have been paid. This raises the question of how many health plans and TPAs are in the same boat and might be unaware of these inconsistencies. With the ongoing compliance challenges and the increase in billing disputes, one wonders: ? ●?How comfortable are payers with their QPA calculations? ●?Are payers confident that their methodologies they are using will hold up against an audit by CMS? ●?Are their vendor partners compliant with regulations? ?
