关于我们
EXP is the opportunity engine. A Southern California 501(c)3 organization, our programs help schools deliver an innovative, career-based curriculum that makes classroom learning relevant and exciting. During the 2022-2023 school year, EXP programs are made available to more than 8,200 high school students in 13 Southern California high schools across 5 school districts. Our success depends on our unique ability to bring industry and schools together to solve problems and overcome obstacles that prevent students' access to education, experience and opportunities. More than 400 industry leaders serve as EXP volunteers, mentors and internship hosts each year. By helping schools and industry work together, EXP is changing how society prepares students for life and bringing genuine opportunity to every young person we can reach.

Launched in 2010, GPS Your Future? Career Discovery Day was the brainchild of the?EXP (then ITEP) board of directors and was led by the late Julia Nagano of the Port of Los Angeles. The goal was to expose students to real-world career opportunities and various careers, particularly in the maritime and international commerce industries. Fourteen years on, GPS Your Future? continues to guide students through their own college and career journey in all industries. The EXP team is looking forward to this year’s event on November 7 as we bring an engaging event to 600+ students, showing the way to their future college and career success. This has been your moment of EXP's 25-year history! Your #LongBeachGives support matters to our students like Alejandra Garcia, an EXP alum and our Director of Program Operations! Here's a message from Alejandra, who celebrated her 9th anniversary with the organization last week. ?? Today, I'd like to share with you how your support is making a difference in the students we support.?Please consider making your donation today: https://lnkd.in/gsu6gJJB Your generosity shaping the future of generations of students. These experiences are transforming students from quiet and shy individuals into confident future leaders with a roadmap to a bright college and career ahead of them. I can see the impact at the schools every day. As an EXP alum, I am a testament to the success of EXP programs. Your support provided me with the opportunities to develop the professional skills and confidence I needed to grow into who I am today. That is why giving days like Long Beach Gives is important to me and to our organization. From now through September 19, the community can come together to fuel the opportunity engine! Your support will help students in 15 EXP-supported schools like Sato Academy of Math and Science gain experience, unlock doors, and build the confidence they need to succeed in school, career, and life. Moreover, you can double the impact of your support thanks to our friends at the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA). Every dollar donated to EXP during Long Beach Gives will be matched up to $2,000, amplifying our shared commitment to student success! Please: ?? Tell your friends about why you support EXP and they should too, by sending a text or email them our giving?page above. ? Share our social media posts on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. ?? Make a donation now through September 19. Thank you for your generosity and for providing life-changing opportunities for young people across Southern California. #opportunityengine #workforcedevelopment #futureleaders #communitypartners
