Today, OASC had the pleasure of hosting an engaging and interactive workshop in Brussels as part of the FARI - AI for the Common Good Institute Brussels Conference 2024 ???? Our session focused on how Local Digital Twins (LDTs) can play a transformative role in developing Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) across Europe. Together with EU stakeholders, we delved into the practicalities, opportunities, and challenges of leveraging LDTs to drive the widespread adoption of PEDs. ?? Key Highlights: ?? ??? It was a pleasure to welcome a delegation of 36 representatives from South Korean public agencies to Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics! During the session, I had the opportunity to present the impactful work of the Digital+Sustainable Innovation Lab, highlighting efforts to advance digital transformation and sustainability through pioneering projects and innovative technology applications. ?? Key initiatives included the Omega X-X and ExPEDite project, along with an introduction to our AI platform, Venturely, which supports entrepreneurs with data-driven tools for sustainable growth. Discussions also covered the transformative impact of AI, IoT, and blockchain across industries in Portugal—from renewable energy ?? to tourism ??? and agriculture ??. The European Commission has recently launched a new initiative to “Increase Digitalisation Awareness & Readiness of EU Communities”. The aim of this?initiative?is to support EU communities at the early stages or that have not yet begun their #digitaltransformation journey by providing resources, best practices, and training to develop digital strategies. As part of the Brussels FARI - AI for the Common Good Institute 2024 Conference, OASC is organising a one-day workshop bringing together key players in a variety of roles capable of influencing the future of AI. ?? This interactive workshop will?explore the potential of Local Digital Twins (LDTs)?to support the development of Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) across Europe. Building on the progress and lessons learned from the?BIPED and?ExPEDite projects to date, we will?engage with EU stakeholders?to discuss the practical development of LDTs in the context of PEDs.
