Our CEO Carl Perez & CFO Viola Aureggi attended Cleantech Group's Forum in San Diego last week, in large part thanks to Anthropocene Institute. We are grateful to everyone who attended for the insightful discussions and breakout sessions. Nuclear innovation and its support of data center-driven load growth was a hot topic of conversation, and DeepSeek's announcement only made it more interesting! Therefore, kudos to our favorite session on powering the AI revolution with nuclear power with none other than Melinda Alankar (Anthropocene Institute), Eric Beaumont (Teneo), Freddy Mondale (Deep Atomic), and Alexander Canon Bryan (Terrestrial Energy) - moderated by Zainab G. (Cleantech Group).

We are proud to announce our collaboration with Snow Lake Energy. We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the company's entry into the nuclear industry. Considering uranium's spot price increase over the years and constrained supply, Snow Lake's current focus on uranium mining can be of crucial value to unlocking major bottlenecks in the nuclear supply chain. One of the first tasks of this partnership will be to analyze how balancing natural and recycled uranium in current reactors can allow Snow Lake to obtain high profit margins for its uranium extraction activities, coupled with low-cost recycled uranium, to deliver competitive average prices for nuclear utilities. New York State and its leadership has been increasingly vocal in its support of deploying advanced nuclear technologies! We are proud to be based in the Empire State and contributing to its nuclear future, as noted by our CEO Carl Perez in a joint press release with Nuclear New York this morning.

Wishing everyone in my LinkedIn family a Happy New Year! May it be healthy, joyful, and prosperous for you. Although one typically looks back at the last year as we enter the new, I would like to highlight the shift we have seen in the last decade. 2024 will always be remembered as a watershed year for nuclear energy generally, both for current and advanced technologies. Amid the positive news, you'll naturally have the detractors indicating that nuclear is going through a "hype" phase. However, it is often omitted how high and steep of a hill the industry has climbed to achieve the broad appreciation it currently receives. Cost overruns and delayed schedules typically dominate the nuclear conversation, I decided instead to share how much the nuclear industry outperformed the expectations it had in January of 2015 (picture of my undergraduate dorm room, which ended up being the first 'office' of my first nuclear company) vs. today. Enjoy and please feel free to add other ones in the comments!! 2015: 1) "We won't need nuclear for a carbon-free future; renewables can get the job done alone." 2) "Newer generations are anti-nuclear, and won't want to work in this field." 3) "AP-1000 units will never be commissioned." 4) "Once nuclear plants reach the end of their operating license, they will cease operations and its capacity will be fully replaced." 5) "Molten salt reactors are a 2040 or later technology, none will get NRC approval." 6) "There isn't enough government support for nuclear technologies." 7) "Recycling will never happen in the United States." 2025: 1) Over 20 countries, including the U.S., have pledged to triple nuclear capacity by 2050 at the most recent COP. 2) There is a record resurgence of students in the nuclear field, and a 2024 poll of Gen Z voters showed that 80% are pro-nuclear. 3) Both AP-1000 units at Vogtle are now commercially operating. Although the South Carolina project was cancelled, China has 4 operating AP-1000 units and have ordered several more. 4) Three Mile Island and Palisades power plants were in decommissioning, but are now being restarted. The vast majority of plants are actually receiving 20-year license extensions. 5) x2 Molten salt reactor vendors in the U.S. received construction permits for their test and demonstration reactors in 2024. 6) The U.S. government has invested billions to fund the nuclear industry's Advanced Reactor Demonstration Projects, to restore its supply chain (fuel, components, AI-driven tech, workforce development), and to boost the economics of currently operating facilities. 7) The U.S. government has allocated record amounts of funding and support for nuclear waste recycling R&D, there is unprecedented industry interest, and Exodys Energy was created to bring this technology to market. What a decade it's been, and we look forward to further transmuting the headlines! What do you think 2035 will look like? Or at least, what statement shall we debunk? Love and light, Carl

Thank you to AlleyCorp for hosting such an interesting event! Carl represented us at this town hall, where NYC Mayor Eric Adams shared the many initiatives his administration is implementing. He addressed a group of entrepreneurs and investors to explain how some of the city's challenges can be solved. Clean and affordable energy access is a big priority. However, Indian Point's premature shutdown in 2021 removed 60% of NYC's clean electricity, only to be replaced by carbon-emitting gas plants. Indian Point is a >2GWe multi-reactor nuclear power plant in the Hudson Valley (36 miles away from the heart of Manhattan), which is currently undergoing decommissioning. Its shutdown was largely due to political reasons emanating from the fear of a meltdown as it happened at Fukushima, and local concerns regarding the disposal of Used Nuclear Fuel often referred to as "nuclear waste". Exodys Energy has a solution to recycle the UNF into fuel for the current and future reactor fleet. Hopefully, this can help prevent any future effort to shut down a clean energy asset, and possibly help restart them!

Not like it matters a ton, but still warms my heart to see Exodys Energy at the top of the Buildlist (https://www.buildlist.xyz/) for Energy & Climate. We’re just beginning to see how critical it is we have a robust fuel supply chain for nuclear (fission and fusion) in the US???? Thanks to Christian Keil and Ryan McEntush for helping spread awareness of the companies working on the most important problems in their earlier days.
