    Helping Entrepreneurs achieve Freedom

    Over the past 12 months I have found myself consuming more and more information from podcasts as well as my first love of reading. I wanted to share some of the resources I've found in the Mergers & Acquisitions, Buying & Selling businesses space which I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn more. First off; I was introduced to Carl Allen's content Dealmaker and then subsequently have chatted to some of his colleagues in this space. I'm a huge fan of his content and the sheer volume of actual value add he puts out into the world on a free of charge basis. If you are thinking of buying businesses it's well worth a watch/listen and can be found at Dealmaker https://lnkd.in/eRV3H2z8. He's a British lad now living in the US and whilst a lot of his content is focused on the US market (think SBA loans etc a lot of it also carries across for the UK space) Secondly; I was interviewed by A.J. Lawrence and introduced by the infamous Dominnique Karetsos to his podcast Beyond 8 Figures. This is a cracking resource for building, growing and selling businesses and covers UK and US https://lnkd.in/esvgKn5s. Probably my favourite episode is the interview AJ did with Jeremy Harbour (not that you can see a theme here with my fascination in learning about buying businesses!!) Finally and a more recent find for me but the one I am ripping through at pace is the Exitwise content on Youtube which can be found at https://lnkd.in/esmGBeCA and is again focused on the sale of businesses but covers a hell of a lot more than that! Brian Dukes Todd Sullivan ?? Fave episode to date is the Christine Nicholson one as she just comes across as an absolute legend with a wealth of knowledge in this space and I guess there is a bit of female to female hero workship in her incredible story!

    "Nobody's buying right now." I hear this all the time. But it's not true. Good companies ALWAYS have buyers. You just need to know how to find them. Here's how to create competition and have multiple acquirers begging to buy: 1. Cast a Wider Net Don't just look at the obvious strategic buyers. Think more broadly about who NEEDS your business or who is trying to enter the space. (not just who wants it) 2. Show Growth Potential Buyers aren't buying your past. They're buying your future. So build a compelling narrative about your future potential — buyers love this. 3. Create FOMO Start with a small group of serious buyers. Let them know others are interested. Set clear deadlines for offers. Don’t exaggerate, and certainly don’t lie. But if you have multiple interested parties, hold them accountable and clearly communicate your expectations. 4. Know Your Worth Don't discount because the market is "slow." Stand firm on value. Because the RIGHT buyer will pay what you're worth. I promise. Think the market's dead? It's not.
