On 9/11 Sec @PatrickTutwiler was teaching a world history class - wherever we were in the world, the impacts of 9/11 echoed across the nation. Nearly 3,000 lives were lost. Our hearts go out to the families changed forever and the heroes who stepped up to save lives that day.

Yesterday was International Literacy Day, raising awareness of the importance of literacy. In Massachusetts, we want our kids to be able to read and read well - that's why we're investing $20M to provide schools and educators with resources to help more students find reading success.

Massachusetts is leading the nation in early education. The Healey-Driscoll Admin is continuing the pandemic era child care grants at the same level as the federal government to stabilize, heal and transform the early education and care system - supporting over 250K children and their families.

We are grateful to the federal delegation for championing increased Head Start funding, and we urge congress to follow suit. With sufficient federal funding, the Biden-Harris admin's changes will expand access to Head Start in Massachusetts, improving affordability for low-income families. ??: https://lnkd.in/esWyS6g4

Earlier this week, Secretary Tutwiler was thrilled to celebrate $8.5 million in capital grants for early education and care providers like East Boston Social Centers. These grants allow providers to update their indoor and outdoor spaces to provide modern, healthy, safe, and inclusive environments where our kids learn, play, and grow!
