关于我们
Excillum is the company behind the world’s brightest X-ray tube. The MetalJet is based on our unique metal-jet technology where the traditional solid anode of X-ray tubes is replaced with a jet of liquid metal. The metal-jet technology was invented by our company’s founders in 1999. Today, we offer a growing range of the MetalJet and NanoTube X-ray sources based on our key technologies, to customers all over the world. Our mission is to enable new science, improve medicine and enhance manufacturing by redefining the X-ray tube. Our customers primarily serve the semiconductor, automotive, aerospace and pharmaceutical industries.

Great work from our friends at Glimpse! Their latest study shows that typical X-ray doses in CT scanning don’t affect battery performance—good news for high-speed inspection. A special shoutout to our colleague Till Dreier for his valuable insights along the way. Check out the full study here: https://lnkd.in/gw7wRg3h.
???It's well known that X-rays can cause damage in humans. But do X-rays damage batteries?????? ?? X-ray beams can damage materials under certain conditions. But we hadn't seen any studies of beam damage in X-ray CT scanning of batteries. So, we decided to look into this ourselves. ?? In Glimpse's latest study, led by our summer intern Jinhong Min, we show that typical X-ray doses used in CT scanning have no effect on battery performance and lifetime. We cycled cells with 2 minutes of X-ray exposure, 1 hour of X-ray exposure, and a control group and looked as hard as we could for differences. Good news – we couldn't find any! ???? The link to the preprint is in the comments. ???Glimpse enables high-throughput CT scanning for battery quality control. To learn more, visit?https://glimp.se?or check out our 1000-cell demo at?https://app.glimp.se. ?????Special thanks to Reece Daniel from Daniel Consulting Group for running the cycling tests as well as Andrew Ramsey (Nikon Metrology) and Till Dreier (Excillum) for their invaluable insights.

Yesterday we?had the pleasure of hosting the 1st Batteries Sweden (BASE) workshop of 2025, filled with fruitful and valuable exchanges between research and industry actors touching on the use and potential of X-ray techniques in the field of batteries.??? ”We got confirmation that X-ray techniques are central for the success of battery research and that there is a great interest in filling the gap between current lab-based systems and the synchrotron capabilities. We appreciated the very open dialogue and once again conclude that having people passionate about their fields together in a room is irreplaceable”, said Bj?rn Hansson, CTO Excillum.
