Our design team and partners envisioned a hospital environment that is comfortable, welcoming, and efficient for patients, families, and staff. Its iconic fa?ade pays homage to the rolling fog of the largest lake in the world and provides striking views throughout each of its 19 floors. Its public areas have the engaging warmth of hospitality spaces, and its patient-centric design drives impactful outcomes by consolidating adaptable inpatient rooms, procedure rooms, and flexibly planned outpatient spaces. We partnered with Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. to design a state-of-the-art, multi-tenant life science facility that meets Maryland’s evolving needs in the biotechnology sector. This 85,000 SF, two-story steel-framed building seamlessly supports office, R&D, and GMP operations. Its flexible design allows future expansion to 120,000 SF. A curved glass fa?ade, vertical wood fins, and a cantilevered trellis create a striking architectural identity, while cascading retaining walls and recessed gardens weave nature into the hardscape. With a thoughtful balance of aesthetics and function, this facility offers scalability, privacy, and an inspiring environment for innovation and discovery.
