? Board Spotlight: Meet Our New Scholarship Director, Kathleen! ? We are excited to introduce Kathleen Proud, Riverside School District, Director of Career & Technical Education as this year’s Scholarship Director. We asked Kathleen a few questions to get to know her better – here’s what she shared: Q: What have you learned about yourself over the past few years? A: " Confidence and trust are two things that have been big for me the past several years. This is only my second year at Riverside after being an administrator at NEWTech Skill Center for ten years and I've really leaned into the support and knowledge of people around me, as well as embraced instead of doubting myself, my skills, and both the professional and personal journey that I'm on. I think that's the power of surrounding yourself with good leadership - especially from women. Knowing that it is okay to ask questions when you don't know something as well as offering and owning the skills and knowledge that you do - it's very empowering.” Q: Do you have a fun fact to share with us? A: " Most people know this, but I love to travel - I've been to all, but two continents (Antarctica and South America) and my goal is to get there by the time I'm 50. I spent a month in Switzerland this summer and my last adventure is a solo trip to Cambodia for my birthday (December 19th) before meeting up with friends in Vietnam for Christmas and New Years Eve.” Join us in celebrating Kathleen! Congrats! ??
