??? Advancing EV Charging in New York ??? The Alliance for Transportation Electrification (ATE) submitted comments this week urging the reauthorization of New York’s Load Management Technology Incentive Program (LMTIP)—a critical initiative supporting commercial EV charging innovation. As EV adoption accelerates, effective load management strategies are essential to reducing peak demand, enhancing grid stability, and ensuring a seamless transition to widespread electrification. Early results from LMTIP are promising, but cutting the program prematurely would hinder progress in testing and refining new technologies. “With the rapid growth of EV adoption, effective load management strategies are more important than ever,” said Philip Jones, Executive Director of ATE. “New York has positioned itself as a leader in transportation electrification, and continuing LMTIP will provide essential incentives to utilities and businesses exploring advanced solutions for managing EV charging demand.” Read our full comments to the New York Public Service Commission and join the conversation on how we can build a smarter, more sustainable EV charging infrastructure. #EVcharging #TransportationElectrification #SustainableEnergy #LoadManagement #SmartGrid #EVpolicy

关于我们
Founded in 2017, the Alliance for Transportation Electrification (ATE) is a trade association dedicated to expanding safe, dependable, affordable, and accessible electric transportation technology through innovations in electric utility regulatory policy and utility services. We bring together industry, utilities, regulators, and stakeholders to do the hard work of navigating the historic shifts underway in energy and transportation. Our members dive deep into the particulars of technology, law, and program models that will shape the electric transportation consumer experience. ATE works to proactively identify issues that can inhibit TE adoption and foster collaboration to find solutions that ensure that no markets and no consumers get left behind. ATE gives voice to the TE industry in the critical conversations happening among policymakers and regulators. Our work bridges the gap between the TE industry, utilities, and regulators to establish a sustained and consistent pathway for infrastructure funding, to streamline and expedite interconnection of public and private charging infrastructure, and to create pathways for innovation in utility services. ATE works to deliver regulatory consistency and certainty that creates opportunities for growth, service reliability, and great consumer experiences.

??? ATE Supports Smart EV Charging Solutions in Maryland ??? This week the Alliance for Transportation Electrification (ATE) submitted a letter to the Maryland Public Service Commission expressing strong support for Pepco Holdings (PHI) Phase II EV programs which combine Time-Of-Use (TOU) rates and Smart Charge Management (SCM) to create a more efficient and reliable energy grid in Maryland. TOU and SCM are complementary tools that help manage EV charging demand. TOU empowers consumers with lower off-peak rates, while SCM enables utilities to dynamically adjust charging to reduce grid strain. Together, they improve grid stability, cut infrastructure costs, and keep EV charging affordable. "As Maryland’s EV adoption accelerates, it is critical to implement smart grid solutions that ensure a sustainable and cost-effective transition," said Philip Jones, Executive Director of ATE. "We urge the Commission to approve PHI’s proposal, which will help maintain grid stability while keeping EV charging affordable for consumers." ???? #EVCharging #SmartGrid #Electrification #Sustainability #EnergyInnovation

“We are not shifting into reverse. The EV market will continue to grow across all market segments driven by market innovation and consumer demand, both within the United States and globally. By pretending the EV transition doesn’t exist, this administration risks the U.S.’ global competitiveness, national security and economic growth.” A great quote from Alliance for Transportation Electrification (ATE) Director of policy and Regulatory Affairs Elizabeth Turnbull in this very informative roundup from Inside Climate News on the nationwide setbacks and business disruption caused by the pause in #NEVI funding.
