Green Oaks of Valparaiso Wins Community Improvement Award! On August 8, 2024, Green Oaks of Valparaiso was honored at the City of Valparaiso and Valpo Chamber's 57th Annual Community Improvement Awards. The awards are “based on the visual impact of exterior appearance and are judged on the following criteria: (1) enhances the attractiveness of Valparaiso; (2) is compatible with the surrounding area and environment; (3) enhances the quality of life and promotes community pride in Valparaiso; and (4) demonstrates a commitment to Valparaiso's future.”?We cannot help but agree that Green Oaks of Valparaiso encompasses all of these qualities and more. Completed in 2024, is a 120-unit assisted living facility located in Valparaiso, Indiana, and managed by Gardant Management Solutions.?The building was designed by Gleason Architects P.C. with Evergreen Construction Company as General Contractor.?In addition to its spacious units, the building includes a variety of community spaces and a beautiful courtyard. We couldn’t let this week close without posting about PEOPLE! Meet Mark Everett. Mark is the Maintenance Supervisor at 6900 and 6920 S. Crandon Apartments. He has worked there for fourteen years. He knows every resident by name, has seen their children grow up, graduate, marry, and live their best lives. He knows their stories, felt their losses, and understood their challenges. His heart? ???? Celebrating Music's Impact: From Nash Elementary to Ravinia! Earlier this spring, students at Nash Elementary in Chicago gave a joyful performance for an audience of friends and family. This marked the culmination of a fifteen-week journey in the Reach Teach Play program facilitated by the renowned music venue Ravinia Festival. The program brings music education to underserved schools in Chicago and Lake County, IL. Guided by dedicated music educators from Ravinia and supported by Principal Byrd, and the Nash Elementary family, these students immersed themselves in music and even wrote their own song. Recently, older students and veterans of the program showcased their talents at the Ravinia Music Matters annual event highlighting the transformative journey of music education. This event united supporters and community members to celebrate our students' growth. At Evergreen, we transform communities and improve lives through our work in affordable housing.
