As a dedicated provider of essential drinking water services, Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) is committed to ensuring the well-being of our communities today and for generations to come. Since our inception on December 23, 1950, under the Municipal Water District Act of 1911, we have upheld a steadfast mission: to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality water to nearly 160,000 residents across our service area. At EVMWD, we recognize the critical role that engineering, infrastructure, responsible management, and strategic governance play in fulfilling our mandate. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, we work tirelessly to secure our water supply, managing approximately 7.5 billion gallons annually. With over 42,000 connections serving water, wastewater, and agricultural needs, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence and community service. EVMWD proudly operates as a sub-agency of the Western Municipal Water District, aligning with the broader goals of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Our General Manager Gregory Thomas, Director of Government Relations Erin Sasse and Board President Chance Edmonson were in Washington, D.C., advocating for Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District. They met with the offices of Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Adam Schiff, his staff, Congressman Ken Calvert, staff from Congressman Mark Takano, Congressman Darrell Issa and Congresswoman Young Kim, as well as the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Bureau of Reclamation. ? Their focus: securing infrastructure funding and pushing for regulatory reforms that reduce delays, lower costs and allow us to invest in long-term water reliability. Regulations should protect water quality and public health without creating unnecessary roadblocks that make delivering essential services more difficult. ? Federal partnerships and smart policies are critical to ensuring sustainable water solutions for our communities. Advocacy at this level helps shape decisions that impact customers for generations. #WaterInfrastructure #RegulatoryReform #Advocacy #PublicService

In October, EVMWD began construction on the Diamond Regional Sewer Lift Station and Dual Force Mains Project. By installing 3,400 feet of new, parallel sewer pipelines we will improve the system’s capacity to meet future population growth and reduce odors from the existing stations. To date, 80% of the force mains have been installed around Diamond Circle and micro tunneling under the San Jacinto River is scheduled to begin in mid-February. The project is anticipated to be completed by October 2026. Learn more about this project at EVMWD.com/CIP.

You may not always see us advocating on behalf of our communities, but we are. Whether in Sacramento, Washington, D.C., or at local offices, we meet with legislators, build awareness and push for solutions to critical water and wastewater issues. On Monday, Director Matthew Dobler, General Manager Gregory Thomas and Director of Government Relations Erin Sasse attended CMUA Capitol Day to ensure the voices of our customers were heard. They met with Sen. Seyarto, staff from Sen. Caballero, Assembly Member Sanchez, Assembly Member Essayli, and California State Water Resources Control Board Chair Esquivel and Board Member Maguire. Discussions focused on securing infrastructure funding, strengthening water resiliency, supporting ratepayer assistance programs, ensuring affordability and advancing wildfire mitigation efforts. Septic-to-sewer conversions were also a key topic, reinforcing the need for solutions that protect public health and the environment. Advocacy is a year-round effort, and we will continue working with policymakers to secure funding, advance projects and ensure a sustainable water future for the communities we serve.
