Happy #FluorescenceFriday! ???? This confocal image captures the root cap of an Arabidopsis thaliana seedling, a protective structure that shields the delicate root meristem and helps the plant sense gravity! "Here, you can see the outermost layer of the root cap detached from the root. Root cap cells continuously shed from the tip and are replaced by new cells produced by the root meristem. This shedding process is actively controlled by modifications of pectin within the cell walls of the root cap cells. Pectin is a key component that regulates cell wall flexibility and adhesion; by modifying its structure, the plant can loosen the cell walls in the outermost cap cells, allowing them to detach smoothly while new cells are generated from within. This dynamic process ensures constant renewal and protection at the root tip." ?? In cyan: Cellulose stained with Calcofluor ?? As a neuroscientist, you know that Brain tissues are thick, intricate, dense and highly autofluorescent; making it almost impossible to get clear images and distinguish individual structures and cells. We have the solution, the VS200 slide scanner with SILA can combine high-resolution images from an entire brain into one digital file instead of multiple snapshots! In addition, since a large glass slide holder is available, bigger samples that previously had to be divided into multiple slides, such as monkey brains, can now be digitized in a single scan. Even better? The SILA speckle illumination unit will allow you to image thick samples clearly and at a high speed! Explore how the VS200 with SILA can transform your neuroscience research: https://brnw.ch/21wRuvI Image shows: Cerebellum imagen using the VS200 SILA. In cancer and stem cell research, it is critical to be able to evaluate tissue composition and morphology along with the morphology of individual cells and have the ability to resolve two objects close together or on top of each other (localization). The optics of the VS200 slide scanner offer broad chromatic aberration correction and improved flatness, making these target molecules easier to resolve and significantly reducing distortion.
