The impact of October’s higher-than-expected rise in inflation last month is reflected in the latest Asda Income Tracker. The tracker, which measures how much disposable income UK households are left with each month after paying bills and spending on essentials, fell for only the second time this year. This followed the 2.3% increase in inflation, driven by higher energy prices. While Cebr who produce the tracker for Asda predicts that this rise may put some households under pressure during the Festive season, we’re continuing to support the communities we serve by maintaining our position as the UK’s lowest-priced traditional supermarket and launching new propositions to provide customers with even more value when they shop with us????? #IncomeTracker #HouseholdSpending #CEBR #Asda

It was great to hear from our new Executive Chairman Allan Leighton today as he addressed colleagues in Asda House, setting out his key priorites for the business. He said: "I’ve been struck in all my conversations so far about the need for us to get back to our Asda DNA. This is a fantastic business, with fantastic colleagues, and a clear purpose in delivering the value families demand from us."? ? "We’ve got to get back to our Asda Price position. That’s what sets us apart from our competition. Whether that’s for the weekly shop or the daily top up, in store or online, we have to provide our customers with uncompromising value, every single time they shop with us." Beyond this, Allan spoke about his past experience with Asda and his passion for the business. "I love this business. As our values say, we’re all colleagues together, one team, and together we will bring back the Asda people know and love."

We’re delighted to feature in the 'Women in Work 100 Gender Equity Measure list’ - which recognises those UK employers who meet standards for female board representation, who are making progress closing the gender pay gap and have published transparent parental and menopause policies. ? Here are just a few ways in which we are driving meaningful change at Asda: ? ?? ?We continue to make progress closing the gender pay gap, with both our ‘mean’ and ‘median’ figures significantly lower than the retail sector average, as measured by the Office for National Statistics. ?? Our Women in Asda Inclusion Network continues to play an important role in progressing our gender representation at every level of the business and more than 40% of board and senior leader positions across Asda are held by women. ?? We recently launched our new Neonatal Care Leave policy to support parents with a baby admitted into neonatal care within their first 28 days of being born. ? ?? We’re beyond proud to feature on this list and remain committed to continuing our progress and prioritising gender equity.

???We’re thrilled to have won DFN Project SEARCH Host Business of the Year award, celebrating our Supported Internship programme across 11 stores. ? Only 4.8% of people in England / 4.1% in Scotland with a learning disability go on to secure paid employment once their education finishes compared to 80% of their peers. ? Supported Internship programmes therefore provide an invaluable opportunity to young people with learning disabilities or learning difficulties, equipping them with the knowledge and experience they need to gain future employment. ? This year, we expanded our programme to welcome over 70 students across 11 stores, and it’s clear to see the value our interns bring to customers and their local communities. ? Congratulations and thank you to our interns, colleagues, and local colleges for their continued support of the programme! ??

? We have hit another major milestone this week, with our Cashpot For Schools initiative now having raised over £5.2m! ? ? We’re donating 0.5% of the value of customers’ shopping to a primary school of their choice every time they shop using Asda Rewards. With over 40 schools surpassing the £1,000 mark, the highest earning school has almost £3,000 in its cashpot – funds which will go direct to whatever the school needs. ? With just two weeks to go, there’s millions pounds still available for schools to get their hands on – so if you’ve not signed up yet, you can do so today!

It’s called the most wonderful time of the year but for millions of over 60's, it’s a difficult period. A staggering 1 in 10 older adults are unsure if they’ll speak to anyone at all over the festive period. That’s why this Christmas, Asda is inviting over 60s to their local store for a ‘Winter Warmer’ a hearty soup, a roll, and unlimited tea or coffee all for just £1. Running across all Asda Cafés until the end of February 2025, this gives many customers the chance to connect, share stories, and feel part of a community. ? Within the first two weeks, we've seen over 60,000 meals have already been served to pensioners - showing just how vital this deal is across this age group.? ? Alongside The Asda Foundation, we’re proud to invest almost £1 million through our in-store initiatives and grants to do what we can to tackle loneliness and isolation in the communities we serve. We hope to bring more people together this Christmas, so if you know someone who could benefit from this initiative, please share or encourage them to visit their nearest Asda ???

In light of International Men’s Day & Men’s Mental Health Month we’re proud to spotlight a local community project in Ellesmere Port, funded by the Asda Foundation Spaces & Places grant, that’s helping men connect, share, and support each other’s wellbeing. Alongside initiatives like this, our own Mental Health Learning Curriculum empowers teams to support mental health in the workplace. We’re also thrilled to have won the Institute of Leadership Workplace Wellbeing Award, reinforcing our commitment to prioritising mental health for everyone. Let’s celebrate the local groups making a difference and continue the conversation around breaking the stigma around mental wellbeing. #Asda #MensMentalHealthMonth #AsdaFoundation #CommunitySupport #Wellbeing #InternationalMensDay
