When parents build digital skills, it creates a ripple effect of change across families and communities, unlocking new opportunities. Congrats to these parents for graduating digital skills trainings with our partners Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) and The Accelerated Schools!????????
We’re so proud to have partnered with Everyone On to bring a 5-week digital literacy program to The Accelerated Schools! Families gained culturally responsive digital skills to navigate daily life—learning everything from using a keyboard and setting up an email account to applying for jobs, shopping online, and connecting with their child’s teacher. After five weeks, participants graduated and took home a fully set-up laptop! Digital literacy is a critical tool to navigate the everyday world and create pathways to opportunity, empowerment, and success. #DigitalEquity #EmpoweredFamilies #PIQE

Partnerships are the ?? to closing the digital divide! At Everyone On, we know true connectivity goes beyond infrastructure—it's about connecting under-resourced communities with digital skills along with meaningful resources & support. We're grateful to collaborate with such passionate advocates at the Broadband Communities Summit West 2024 to discuss the importance of partnerships and the work on-the-ground creating digital equity! ?? Just wrapped up a fun panel at the Broadband Communities Summit West 2024! It was amazing to dive into the real-world impact of broadband expansion and digital equity initiatives alongside fellow thought leaders—though I was definitely outnumbered by my CA colleagues! ?? Although I had some familiar faces from my friends at the City of Scottsdale Josh Utterback, MBA, MRED, CEcD also great to run into an old friend Jeff Sobotka The conversation emphasized the essential role of partnerships in bridging the digital divide and the transformative impact connectivity has on underserved communities. I’m inspired by the incredible organizations working tirelessly to help bridge this gap and advance digital inclusion. Specifically, special thanks to all of my fellow panel members who were all rockstars! Cheri Pierre Natalie González (she/her) Charlene Tatis Paulina Chavez It was the perfect opportunity to showcase the work of the IDIA (Institute for Digital Inclusion Acceleration) in Maricopa County and across State of Arizona where we are bringing essential tech resources, skills training, and support to those who need it most. Collaboration is truly indeed the great competitive advantage! This Internet Day, we're celebrating Everyone On's work to get more than 1 million people online across the US. A digital inclusion organization, Everyone On helps correct connectivity injustice and unlock social and economic opportunity in under-resourced communities. “Everyone On knows firsthand the inequality the digital divide perpetuates and how it negatively impacts people’s lives,” says Norma E. Fernandez, CEO. In addition to providing access to reliable internet, EveryoneOn offers thousands of free educational resources to K-12 learners through their Digital Learning Center, like study guides and college planning materials. This helps to ensure all young people have a chance to harness the power of the internet for their educational success. “People need three tools to get online: reliable high-speed internet, a device, and the skills to do everything from using a computer and setting up an email account to looking for employment and accessing healthcare,” says Diana Rodriguez, Vice President of Programs and Strategy.
