In a vibrant classroom in Romania filled with eight and nine-year-old children, a powerful lesson about faith was about to unfold. The children gathered, their eyes bright with curiosity, ready to explore a profound truth: God's presence is always near, even when it is unseen. During the lesson about God's miraculous protection over the Jewish people, the children's leader crafted an activity designed to help them recognize divine closeness in their own lives. She divided the children into small groups and asked them to write down moments where they felt God's presence. Children from each group enthusiastically shared where they had experienced God's comforting presence. Their stories were simple yet deeply moving. Some of their heartfelt examples included moments of vulnerability and divine protection: getting lost in a store, falling from a bicycle, enduring a hospital stay, offering a prayer, narrowly avoiding drowning, and facing a challenging math test. Each story revealed a child's understanding that they were never truly alone. God was with them. For the children's leader, witnessing these young souls recognize and articulate their spiritual experiences was an incredibly touching moment. The EGM teaching model had empowered her to create a safe space where children could explore and share their personal encounters with faith; a real faith in God that sees beyond the physical world.?
