In the three years since we started Every, not a single employee has left the company. (Except for one, but he is coming back!) That’s because when I hire people I ask them what their motivation for coming to work with me is. If the conversation immediately turns to compensation, it is almost always going to be a bad fit.

Seed stage founders: Who you hire will make or break your company. That is a well understood fact. But it is really hard to hire well. Even the best people aren't built for early stages. Watch the video below to learn some tips on how to hire someone who can function in a company that doesn't have process established.

Founders: I’m about to ruffle some feathers. Your employees should be well-versed in your startup's financial picture. When they are, three good things happen: First, they will make decisions with the org's bottom line in mind, and will recognize if money needs to be spent or can be spent with the current burn rate. Secondly, you can avoid awkward conversations following a seeding round when everyone suddenly thinks it is time to cash in. Finally, you show that you trust them with that knowledge and it brings them closer as a team. It’s what I do at Every, and I haven’t lost an employee yet. (Well I lost one, but he decided to come back) My people know where we are, they know where we want to be, and they all work together to move us in that direction.

We love being out in the community every week, connecting with incredible founders, and sharing insights together. Thanks to our fantastic startup ambassadors for continuously creating meaningful moments for founders to connect! Last night, we had a fantastic dinner with inspiring founders, exchanging insights on common startup challenges and learnings. It was great to have our CEO Rajeev Behera and Lisa Shmulyan making the evening even more special. Appreciate everyone who came out—looking forward to more! #startups #foundercommunity

Yesterday morning in SF, we featured the Founder of Promova ($30M+ ARR), Andrew Skrypnyk, at our monthly breakfast where we gather an exclusive group of high-growth, venture-backed founders for great conversations over a hearty breakfast. ??? He shared insights on finding PMF in a crowded niche—language learning!— and scaling past $10M ARR. ?? Huge thanks to our incredible co-hosts, ?? Fidelity Private Shares and Every, for making it all happen—and to David Santana for stellar moderating! ?? David Santana Lisa Shmulyan #SF #founders #funders #community #breakfast

Huge thanks to our friends over at Every. Asbu AI Inc. is now officially incorporated (mostly) free of charge. If you're starting something, check them out! And to anyone thinking about building something... just do it. ?? The U.S. has its problems, but one thing stands true. You can turn 'nothing' into a VERY BIG 'something' here. There’s funding, grants, accelerators, business loans, and now even free incorporation services to get you started. Failure isn’t the end; it’s just part of the process. I’m 20, not rich, not Ivy League, not a genius. All I had was a drive to solve a problem and a laptop. If I can do it, so can you. It doesn’t matter if you’re launching a beauty salon or ‘AI for dogs.’ Resources exist to help you win. We’re even bootstrapping Asbu AI with less than $25K in year one. ?? No more waiting. No more excuses. Just go out there and build.
