In #highereducation, one of the greatest challenges is getting #students not only engaged in #learning but also excited about research. An equally pressing issue is navigating the increasing role of #artificialintelligence in the #teachingandlearning space. This semester, Dr. Courtney Plotts aimed to tackle both by teaching a psychology of wellness class that integrated the principles of #positivepsychology with the use of #AItools. During the two-week module on #positivepsychology, she wanted students to experience research and writing as positive and engaging activities. Dr. Plotts floated the idea of co-authoring an article on student wellness from their perspective, incorporating the responsible use of #AI, fostering a passion for research, and ensuring that the process was enjoyable. In work that builds on efforts of the summer and fall 2024 cohorts, the spring interns are developing a #toolkit about #artificialintelligence for #instructors and #students. Berhanu and his fellow interns are studying ways that text and #imagegenerators, along with other #AI and #digitallearningtools, can help students learn.
