After months of hard work and training, Special Olympics Connecticut athlete Chris Amadeo and his teammates won 4 medals at the Winter Games, including a gold in the 4x50 relay for snowshoeing! He said his friend Billy Christopoulos, a member of our gas team and #soctgames volunteer, was his good luck charm. “I’m so proud of myself! But it’s not all about winning, it’s about having fun. The extraordinary power of sports is on full display every year at the Special Olympics Connecticut Winter Games, and it takes a herculean effort by dozens of our dedicated employees to ensure the weekend of competition goes off without a hitch for the athletes. “I love being with the athletes. When they remember you year after year, it’s just the coolest thing. I used to have one athlete who was half my height and now she towers over me. We’re helping them grow and succeed, and there’s no better feeling than seeing how big of an impact we can make with our support,” said Tracey Alston, a veteran volunteer and member of our Project Services team. ??
