Modern and contemporary American art museum with a world-renowned ceramics collection. 1st Museum designed by I. M. Pei.
关于我们
The Everson is the first museum to dedicate itself to the collection of American art, to create a permanent collection of ceramics, to collect video art, to create a docent program and to hire the now internationally-known architect I.M. Pei to design its building, a sculptural work of art in its own right. The Everson is home to approximately 11,000 works of art: American paintings, sculpture, drawings, video, graphics and one of the largest holdings of international ceramics in the nation. The Everson Museum of Art is located on Harrison Street, in the heart of downtown Syracuse, New York, right across from the OnCenter. We invite you to visit the Everson Museum of Art and celebrate the arts in Central New York. 315-474-6404

Join us on October 24 at 5:30pm for Final Edition - Talk and Tour: A special evening of art and conversation about the past and future of local news. Local newspapers in their heyday were more than just headlines, bra ads, and fish wrap. They were a community’s glue, providing a balanced source of information for the right, left, and middle, while shining a light on city, county, and state government. As print journalism has declined, the mission remains as vital as ever, but resources are stretched, and polarization has grown. We can’t go back—so what’s the best way forward? In conjunction with Final Edition, Tim Atseff’s thought-provoking exhibition on the decline of local newspapers, join us for a powerful in-person discussion on the future of local journalism. Tim, along with local news experts, will explore how digital and social media, commercial, and nonprofit initiatives are working to rebuild local news and community in Syracuse and beyond. Panelists include: ?Timothy Atseff, Artist ?Tim Kennedy, Regional President, Advance Local ?Maximilian Eyle, Executive Director, Central Current ?Joshua Darr, Associate Professor, Newhouse School of Communications Moderated by journalist Margaret Talev of Syracuse University’s Institute for Democracy, Journalism & Citizenship (IDJC), this discussion will tackle the ongoing challenges and opportunities for local news today. After the panel, stay for a special guided tour of Final Edition with Tim Atseff, diving deeper into his exploration of local newspapers and their place in our communities.
