Once again, Everport Terminal Services is leading the way with a sustainability initiative introducing Pre-Electric Terminal Trucks here in Oakland. These trucks offer zero emissions and increased reliability. The OrangeEV electric UTR trucks provide a safer and more efficient option than traditional OEV trucks. They utilize Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, which do not require complex cooling systems for safety and battery longevity. Electric vehicles (EVs) produce less heat than diesel vehicles, have fewer hot surfaces, and do not carry a fuel tank that can ignite in an accident. Furthermore, with no diesel fuel, motor oil, or glycol, the common causes of slips and injuries are eliminated. Nice work Everport Oakland Terminal!

The "Crane Rescue Drill" at the Everport-Oakland Terminal has set a new record for response time. The drill took just 12 minutes and 45 seconds—from the moment the gate was opened until the victim was safely lowered from the crane and ready for medical treatment. This impressive achievement is attributed to the efforts of Jennifer Bledsoe, the Everport safety team, members of the Joint Coast Safety Committee, and ILWU Coast Safety Committee Chairman Adam Wetzel. Everport is proud to be recognized as having the safest terminal on the West Coast!

Today, we pause to honor the courage and dedication of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Day is a time to recognize the sacrifices made by these heroes and their families — sacrifices that have helped protect our nation's freedoms and values. Their resilience, bravery, and commitment to service are a reminder of the strength that defines our country.
