Moreover, exit polling just last week also showed Americans prefer clean energy expansion over fossil fuels by 13 points. 3?? Upholding Environmental Justice Through programs like Justice40, President Biden has acknowledged that justice and climate action must go hand-in-hand. Addressing pollution from LNG terminals is fundamentally an environmental justice issue. 4?? Showing Global American LeadershipPro-LNG industry lobbyists use European energy security as an excuse to continue America’s LNG export expansion. But this is a deeply misguided narrative. Existing LNG infrastructure can already address Europe's energy security needs. In these dark and uncertain times, I am so inspired and reinvigorated by my Evergreen Action colleagues who have spent the last several months preparing for this exact outcome, and who are ready to take the fight to the Trump administration. Irreparable harm will be done over the next four years, and there will be brutal losses, but we aren't helpless or hopeless. She respects the legacy of coal mining and the prosperity it’s brought to coal communities, but also knows these communities deserve clean, healthy water. Indiana County received $6.3 million dollars from the Federal Clean Energy Plan and the community is using that money to remediate abandoned mine drainage and clean up its waterways. It can be easy to underestimate or overlook LNG as a threat to our health, ecosystems, and economy. Maybe it’s because it’s yet another three-letter acronym or because “natural” is misleadingly snuck into the name. But for people living in the shadows of polluting LNG export facilities and for the doctors and public health professionals witnessing higher and higher asthma and cancer rates in nearby communities,?ignoring the harms of LNG is literally impossible. I got to connect with four leaders in the fight against LNG for the latest Evergreen Action blog.
