Meaningful, Dementia-Inclusive Experiences In & With Nature ??
关于我们
Evergreen Minds, Inc is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization that provides people living with dementia and their care partners, enjoyable opportunities for no-pressure experiences in and with nature and the expressive arts. We create opportunities for all ages and abilities to come together in meaningful outdoor invitations to deepen their connections with one another and their relationship with the earth. At the same time, these connections naturally reduce ageism and stigmas associated with dementia. We keep our group sessions small to ensure a safe, welcoming and personalized experience for all participants. We strongly believe that people are meant to regularly experience fresh air and nature and this innate connection should not end because we grow older or develop cognitive changes. We also believe easy to access to nature and creative self-expression are vital for our mental, physical and emotional well-being and is our birthright.

??In autumn winds, the faded nests appear, Crafted by mothers, steadfast and near. Foraged treasures, a safe embrace, For their precious offspring, a nurturing space. As seasons shift and changes unfold, Beauty lies in the stories told. From what we’ve built, new growth will rise, Not an ending, but a fresh surprise. ?? Each chapter turns, a journey anew, In every ending, beginnings shine through. ?????? Happy November, dear friends! ??

Meet Phyllis. As I was driving today, I noticed her walking along the road and bending over and over picking up trash and putting it in a bread bag. Of course, I spun my car around to go meet her and thank her. She said she lives close by and does this everyday. Phyllis is in her 70s and said she likes to take care of the earth for the children. ???? I reflected how over the years, some older folks have told me that they feel they “can’t do anything anymore.” But Phyllis is proof that we all can do good in any way that we are inspired and able. ?? This might simply mean sharing a genuine smile, warm hug, offering a listening ear, or sitting together in silence. Thank you, Phyllis and to everyone who works quietly to make a difference. ?? ?? #environmentalhero #inspiration #makeadifference #oldpeoplearecool #positiveaging #legacy #earthdayeveryday #fridayfeelings #beherenow

Happy International Day of Older Person's! ?? October 1st was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1990. ?? This year’s theme, "Ageing with Dignity: Strengthening Global Care and Support Systems," urges governments, policymakers, and social services to take coordinated action to address the diverse needs of older adults. It emphasizes the importance of promoting healthy living conditions that respect the dignity, privacy, and autonomy of older persons, allowing them to make decisions about their care and quality of life. ?? ?? ?? Aging is a shared experience for everyone. It’s a part of living, and we must work together to address the needs of older adults and our future selves! ??
