Tip Tuesday: Environmental conditions are crucial for coating and painting project success. Last week we did a deep dive into dew point, this week, here are the rest of the ideal environmental conditions for a successful coating project. To achieve ideal adhesion and avoid common issues, it's important to follow these guidelines: ? Temperature (Environment) 40°-100°F ? Move with the sun (use the sun to warm metals in the winter) ? Dew Point (Environmental Temp must be 10° above Dew Point) ? Humidity below 80% ? Surface Temperature? ?At least 5° above the dew point and not dropping? ?Cold metal may cause runs/sags (can be wiped out) ?Surface temperature not to exceed 110°F ? Ideal Coating Temperature 70-80° Remember to move with the sun to warm metals in the winter.
