Eventprofs VISION was a bigger success than I had anticipated, but not everything went as planned so here are my reflections on what contributed to the success and the hiccups along the way:
?? What went well
The speakers, their content, and overall how the sessions were structured offered tangible solutions to the attendees and allowed them to *really* participate, which led to an NPS of 8.0.
68.4% of the participants that joined live actively engaged in the public chat, session chats, Q&As, and brainstorming sessions because we were intentional with our activations.
We reached 292 registrations and 190 participants who logged in with a 0 marketing budget (almost tripling our registration goals). Tapping into our network?and the networks of our speakers and attendees played a huge role.
?? Now, onto the hiccups and challenges
The final reminder email didn’t go out on time, which contributed to a lower show-up rate than we aimed for (65% compared to the 70% we set as our goal).
The transition between the sessions wasn’t seamless, leading to some drop-offs and some participants being unable to find their way back to the live feed.
I focused too much on pre- and during-event activities, leaving less time to properly prepare post-event communications.
In addition, I didn't have solid personal boundaries regarding overworking, which meant I had to take extra time to decompress after the event.
All in all, the feedback shows a need for this type of event in our industry.
So you best believe this wasn’t the one and only edition (in fact, we’ve already started gathering your input to see what problem we should be tackling next).
