The Event Safety Alliance? (ESA) is a non-profit trade association of live event industry professionals committed to eliminating unsafe behaviors and conditions throughout our industry. The association is made up of individual and corporate members from all segments of the live event industry who are devoted to making a difference—and saving lives. Motivated by past tragedies, and to honor those who through their sacrifice contributed to our learning, we believe that… -We are committed to provide learning and tactical opportunities to aid in creating a safe environment for our industry family and guests; -Cultivating a culture of safety will reduce uncertainty and risk while positively impacting our members in the quality, reliability, competitiveness and profitability of their work; -The industry possesses the motivation, experience, skill, and desire to assure the safety of its own assets; and -Every individual has the power to improve safety at an event by not just talking about safe methods and techniques, but practicing them, advocating for them on the job, arriving prepared and equipped to operate safely, and intervening when necessary to prevent unsafe acts. -Stakeholders have a responsibility to provide a safe event space environment for their guests and workforce;

?? Tragedy in North Macedonia A devastating fire has torn through the Pulse nightclub in Kochani, North Macedonia, claiming the lives of at least 59 people and injuring over 150 more. Reports indicate that pyrotechnics used during a live performance ignited the blaze, which spread rapidly due to flammable materials in the venue. The majority of those who lost their lives were tragically caught in a crowd crush as people tried to escape. Authorities have arrested 20 people in connection with the fire, including government officials and the nightclub's management. Investigators suspect corruption played a role, as the venue reportedly did not have a legitimate licence. It is too early to draw firm conclusions, but this tragedy once again highlights the risks associated with crowded spaces, fire safety, and emergency planning. We will be following the findings of official inquiries as they unfold. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the emergency responders dealing with the aftermath of this heartbreaking event.
