A nonprofit providing supportive services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
关于我们
Founded in 1977, the Council Against Domestic Assault (CADA) began with a group of concerned community members who wanted to help support their family, friends, and neighbors. The Council Against Domestic Assault grew to include Lansing's first domestic violence shelter and supportive services for survivors and their children. In recent years, CADA changed its name to EVE (End Violent Encounters) to reflect EVE's comprehensive services to survivors.

EVE is raising $15,000 to cover essential renovations at our Women and Children’s Shelter. These upgrades will transform our facility into a more supportive and nurturing space, where families in crisis can heal and rebuild their lives. Here’s how your contribution can make a difference: ?? Reopening the Suite: Renovating key areas to restore a suite and increase our capacity to shelter more women and children in need. ?? Bathroom Renovation: Upgrading bathrooms to enhance functionality, safety, and comfort for our residents. ??? Kitchen Renovation: Updating the kitchen to ensure a secure and functional space for meal preparation and communal dining. I’ve launched a fundraising campaign to support this vital cause, and I’d be thrilled if you could join me in making a difference. Your donation will have a direct impact on creating a better environment for those who need it most. ?? Donate here: https://lnkd.in/dQrzWGEj Thank you for your support! ??

Chaunice Wooten, EVE’s Domestic Violence Support Unit Advocate, was invited over this past weekend to participate in a round table discussion regarding domestic violence with Attorney General Dana Nessel and Nicole Beverly, LMSW, SSW. The round table discussion invited participants to bring their concerns regarding domestic violence directly to the attention of the Attorney General. Beverly, founder of The ENOUGH Initiative, selected participants based on their contributions to the movement to stop domestic violence throughout the state of Michigan. The ENOUGH Initiative previously presented Chaunice with their Torchbearer award, which celebrates changemakers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Chaunice did a fabulous job communicating to the Attorney General the struggles our survivors face within the criminal legal system and promoting the changes that they would like to see going forward. Congratulations Chaunice and excellent work!
