Think Policy is important in manufacturing? We do too! eVAC recently hosted Claire Petersen & Joby Bernstein, from Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, who are researching how the Inflation Reduction Act is impacting our community. We look forward to seeing their work develop to show how policy can accelerate manufacturing success for communities in need. PS: Updated shot of our amazing facility!

A great day in Sumter!! Thanks to our partners at Evans General Contractors, & all the trade professionals that are building this amazing facility for our home town! #eVAC #SumterEconomicDevelopment #VAC #HeartbeatofSumter
Final steel beam is officially in place! The #toppingout ceremony for eVAC Magnetics' #EV Manufacturing Plant in Sumter, SC signifies not just reaching the highest point of this #BuiltbyEvans project, but also the incredible team behind it. Our #Evans team marked the occasion with a luncheon—complete with laughter, great food, and exciting raffle prizes. This milestone is a reminder that while we build structures, it’s our clients and the people we work with who truly shape the future. We're deeply grateful for everyone's hard work and look forward to providing #eVAC with a facility that will soon produce permanent magnetics for electric vehicles. #EvansManufacturing #VAC #Vacuumschmelze

We’re recruiting… From the “Class of 2030 & beyond.” Our hometown eSTEAM festival proved the perfect way to kick off Manufacturing Month.? On Saturday, we joined 80 local City of Sumter, South Carolina, partners in a Community festival focused on our youth who have a VERY bright future ahead of them. ? As one of the many excellent workforce development initiatives hosted by the Sumter Economic Development Team, this weekend marked the largest festival yet, welcoming over 7,500 visitors, exciting us all with local opportunities to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. At eVAC Magnetics’ Gold Sponsor Tent, families and future employees of all ages, enjoyed a wide variety of games that showcased the diverse applications of magnets, and the sheer power of Neodymium Rare Earth Permanent magnets. Selfishly, we were most excited to see some of our “Wonderful 1-Ups” -- Class of 2036!?These Scholars, and future employees, from Liberty STEAM Charter School, where we demonstrate the power of Corporate-Education partnerships! ?While “it” will eventually show in our bottom line… the true value is seen reflected in these Scholars eyes as they discover the hidden wonders of the natural world demonstrated through science, and the possibilities that lie in front of them--Right here in their own back-yard! See the pics below.?THIS is what success looks like. ?Thanks to the entire community of Sumter showing up for what matters most. ?And to our 2030+ scholars… we have your job application is waiting for you! #eVAC #VAC #Vacuumschmelze #SumterEconomicDevelopment #HeartbeatofSumter #Sumter #readySC #eSTEAM Christian Lasner Tim Simonds Derrick Raybon Travis Norton David Eargle

A beautiful morning for a Construction Site update… All the walls on the Main Facility are in… Roof almost complete… Pad ready for a new Power Substation!?Lots of action as we close in on our Steel-Topping ceremony later this month where we get to celebrate a significant construction milestone only made possible by the over 21,000 safe hours worked so far by so many great women and men across the Trades working together as one.?This facility is already a site to behold! ?Believe it or not, the work to make the magic happen inside is readily underway! Speaking of which, check out what’s our team just unboxed… Meet “Tiny 2,” our first piece of Advanced Manufacturing machinery!!?Why Tiny 2 you ask? Our Sumter Teammate, Josyln “Tiny” McCray, was the first to travel to Germany to train on this equipment, and he was there for its recent arrival & reveal.?He was so excited, and proud of his work on it, his co-workers jabbed, “if you love it so much…what’s its name?”?Tiny didn’t miss a beat… he loves it so much, and its HIS baby, so he’s calling it… Tiny 2!?Jokes on us—this state-of-the-art, highly technical, advanced manufacturing equipment is now forever immortalized as… Tiny 2! We’re building something special!! ?For those eager to join, we know it seems like Construction is taking forever… But, big developments are coming just around the corner. Keep following us as when hiring ramps back up with over 200 more jobs going live early 2025 (eVAC.sctechjobs.com).?For our industry partners—we want to buy LOCAL!! JOY!! One should love what they do.?And those who can spread JOY, are a force multiplier! Meet one of ours, Amanda Brooks, eVAC Machine Operator.?Originally from the Cherryvale area, Amanda has called Sumter, SC home her whole life. ?As one of our first Production Team members hired, you only need to see her in action once to understand the JOY and passion for life she spreads. Amanda loves to teach aerobics, crochet, and take care of both her grandbaby, and her father (89 years young!).?She pairs these passions within the community by volunteering at the Bernie Hope Center, where she leads aerobics classes for Seniors who love getting out and feeling young! Here’s some more from our sit down with Amanda… Why did you chose to join eVAC? ?“I chose to join the eVac team because it was a great opportunity and the vibe from Michelle was absolutely the best. Because I?did this, and it has been the best decision I’ve made.” Anyone you want to give a shout-out to? “I want to give a big shout out to Michelle Kershaw [HR Manager] and Michael Curtis [Plant Manager] for giving me this great opportunity.”?… and of course—her amazing Family! Success is in our Secret Sauce… our competitive advantage… our People! VACUUMSCHMELZE CEO, Dr. Erik Eschen, sat down recently with InvestorNews Inc CEO, Tracy Weslosky, to discuss the recent announcement of securing $335M Debt Financing to support eVAC Magnetics' Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Facility in Sumter, SC.?Some key take-aways from the discussion, How are you completing such a monumental task? “Most importantly, is the Vac Team…they are just fantastic. They know what they’re doing. They’re fully committed and they’re excited to see such a great opportunity.” Why South Carolina? “We were looking for an area where people still work hard.?They appreciate a good job. Because we want to offer great jobs, where we train the people for high level jobs.?And I think we found the right place in South Carolina.” When asked again how he succeeded… “…at the end of the day it’s the Facts. The Analysis. And the last 10% is really, are the people in the room the ‘right people.’ Do they trust each other and get along.?And that's the little secret sauce!” How do you manage such a geopolitically charged industry? “What we do is we bring together everyone that is required. Sit together…ensure that all stakeholders get what they need to play in that supply Chain. Maybe that's the difference… That’s the strategic part. Not thinking only about us, but that we can only succeed if all our partners succeed. And that’s what strategy at the end is all about.” See the full interview below to learn more about our Secret Sauce! #eVAC #VAC #Vacuumschmelze #SumterEconomicDevelopment #SouthCarolina #LaunchToLegacy #IamSumterChamber #HeartbeatofSumter #Sumter https://lnkd.in/g2nZV6i5

Partnerships Matter! Community Matters!!! Members of the eVAC management team took advantage of the GREATER SUMTER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE's "State of the Economy" session this morning. A terrific event with Dr Joey Von Nessen, University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business, sharing his "So What" economics which provided a forecast of the Opportunities that abound within Sumter!
