Green corridors expand worldwide but face a "feasibility wall."
Today, the Global Maritime Forum and Getting to Zero Coalition reveal new findings on the global status of green shipping corridors – specific trade routes where the feasibility of zero-emission shipping is catalysed by public and private action.
The third edition of the "Annual Progress Report on Green Shipping Corridors" highlights a significant expansion in the number of initiatives but also makes clear that continued advancement is not a given.
?? 40% growth in green shipping initiatives this year, with six corridors nearing real-world implementation.
?? Yet, progress faces a major hurdle—the high cost of zero-emission fuels and limited government policy support could stall future advances.
The report calls for urgent action to bridge the cost gap, highlighting five key recommendations for driving continued progress and unlocking a sustainable future for shipping.
