The Clean Industrial Deal is here – and science will support its objective to build a stronger, more competitive Europe. The European Commission’s new plan not only lays the foundation for a cleaner future by accelerating the decarbonisation of our industry – it also plans to safeguard the long-term viability of European manufacturing, while ensuring a skilled workforce. The #CleanIndustrialDeal is comprehensive and will help deliver on a range of EU priorities. Research and innovation will be a key player in achieving these ambitious goals. EU-funded projects are already driving the development of advanced technologies that reduce emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and fostering sustainability across all industries. Our projects are also working to close the skills gap and protect our social model. Research is also being mobilised to build global partnerships. Our work is funded through the EU’s science programme Horizon Europe. As part of the Clean Industrial Deal, the Commission specifically plans to: - Adopt a plan to lower energy bills; - Expand clean energy and efficiency; - Boost demand for EU-made clean products; - Embed sustainability, resilience, and #MadeInEurope criteria; - Prioritise critical raw materials and circularity. The future starts today: clean, competitive, and full of potential. Looking forward to seeing research in action, and how our ongoing projects will support these aims. Recognising excellence in research ?? The European Commission has awarded 2,939 outstanding postdoctoral researchers the Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Seal of Excellence under the 2024 Postdoctoral Fellowships call! ?? These researchers submitted high-quality proposals, scoring 85% or higher, but unfortunately did not receive funding due to budget constraints. With this recognition, they can now seek alternative funding at national or regional levels - now already being considered an excellent project. The MSCA Seal of Excellence opens doors to new funding opportunities, ensuring that top-tier research continues to thrive, even if it is not with us. ?? The next call for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships opens on 8 May 2025! Stay tuned! Learn more here:?https://europa.eu/!BHDkwd #MSCA #HorizonEU #PostdoctoralResearch

Oksana Khymych was forced to leave Ukraine with her two small children, unsure of what the future would hold. With support from the #MSCA4Ukraine, she has found stability in the Netherlands, continuing her work on innovative entrepreneurship. Her research will play a role in Ukraine’s economic recovery. It examines what startups need to survive in crisis conditions and how European best practices can support Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts. Though she is far from home, Oksana remains closely connected with her colleagues in Ukraine, determined to contribute to the country’s future. This is why supporting displaced researchers matters. It’s about more than careers — it’s about ensuring knowledge and innovation continue, even in the most difficult times. MSCA4Ukraine is part of the EU’s response to the war in Ukraine, ensuring that researchers can continue their work despite displacement. ?? Read her story here:?https://europa.eu/!cf3V8g
