Today, Europacable had the opportunity to participate in ENTSO-E 15th Anniversary Conference regarding "Powering the Sustainable Transition: Grids for a Carbon-Neutral and Competitive Europe". During the conference, T&D Europe , EU DSO Entity, ENTSO-E & Europacable re-affirmed their commitment to work together to deliver on the EU Grid Action Plan, notably by assessing the potential benefits of possible common practices on: ??asset testing and qualification specifications; ??increased investment visibility; and ??collaboration in contributing to the planned revision of the EU’s procurement rules. Look for compliant cables: Only CPR compliant cables to be placed on the European Market and installed in buildings: substandard, fraudulent cables increase risk of a fire; 2?? Check for required performance: The choice of cables to be installed has a direct impact on fire propagation and escape time in case of a fire: low performance cables not in line with required fire safety level may have fatal consequences for people in case of a fire; 3?? Ask for surveillance: Stronger, stringent market surveillance to be enforced to ensure full compliance with CPR requirements: Too many cases of non-compliance which can result in fatal dangers for people in Europe. These are the messages we conveyed at the European Commission Fire Information Exchange Platform (#FIEP) webinar on “The importance of installation and maintenance of building products with fire performance” last Friday.

The distribution Grid Matters! ?? DSO Entity together with a coalition of 14 European cross-sectoral (energy) associations collectively calls for putting distribution grids at the center of attention of the European agenda for the next five years. In the joint statement, the coalition explains that ???????????????????????? ???????????? ?????????????????? (????????) ?????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ???????? ???????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????? ?????? ?????????????? ???????????????????? on the ground for the benefit of all European citizens, enterprises, and industries. The distribution grids are incorporating an increasing amount of renewables and are becoming more customer driven. DSOs are the key technical enablers of the 42.5% EU’s renewable energy target, as more than 70% of renewables will be connected to the distribution grid by 2030. This will see more than 30 million electric vehicles (EVs) on the roads and 60 million heat pump units installed by 2030.
