Ukraine is driving innovation where governance meets technology! Last week, our team joined over 5,000 experts at Lviv IT Arena, Eastern Europe's largest tech event. Eurasia Foundation's Danylo Molchanov shared how our Digital Transformation Activity leverages the latest tech solutions to power economic growth and deliver government services that put people first. Want to learn more? Read on below!
?? USAID and Ukraine’s Tech Sector: Expanding the Partnership for Digital Solutions and Growth USAID Ukraine and DTA participated in the Lviv IT Arena conference to showcase innovative GovTech solutions developed in Ukraine with financial support from the U.S. Government. The event also allowed the IT sector to explore ways to collaborate with international technical assistance programs. IT Arena is an annual technology event that gathers over 5,000 tech sector representatives for idea exchange, discussions, and networking. This year, USAID leveraged the event to engage with the IT community to create a digital ecosystem, develop technological solutions for workforce growth, and enhance cybersecurity. During a panel discussion, Theodora Dell, USAID/Ukraine Deputy Mission Director, emphasized USAID programs' pivotal role in driving Ukraine's digital transformation, supporting businesses, and fostering innovation to boost economic growth. DTA Chief of Party Danylo Molchanov introduced attendees to the program's activities and highlighted key achievements made possible through international donor support. He also discussed new collaboration opportunities, inviting startups and established companies in Ukraine’s IT sector to partner with DTA. At the meetup, "Building Innovative GovTech Products That Go Global," the DTA team and Prozorro shared their experiences developing digital solutions and opportunities for startups in the open data field. ?? The cooperation opportunities focus on business analysis (discovery phase), developing technical requirements for IT products, creating and modernizing software, building system integrations, and establishing information protection systems. It also includes auditing state IT systems and data, supplying equipment and consulting services, creating predictive models for the public sector, developing projects based on open data, and participating in grant competitions and acceleration programs for data-focused startups. The collaboration between USAID programs and the IT sector is critical to building resilient infrastructure, fostering entrepreneurship, accelerating economic recovery, and supporting Ukraine’s integration into the EU. Together, these efforts are laying the foundation for a more transparent and efficient digital economy. ?? Ukraine’s tech sector has a unique opportunity not only to gain valuable experience but also to become a global leader in digital innovation, contributing to the country's recovery and growth.
