February is National Cancer Prevention Month. According to research, nearly 20% of new cancer cases in the United States are due to a combination of excess body weight, poor diet and physical inactivity. Not only does maintaining a healthy weight, being physically active and consuming a balanced diet decrease the risk of cancer, but it also helps prevent other health issues such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Visit www.eugeneymca.org to find out more about how the Y can help!
