?? Accidents, fires and other disasters - what do we do??? It may seem natural that the emergency response systems in Denmark and Germany work together when help is needed in the border region. But this cooperation is far from a given.? It is the result of a close and coordinated partnership between the emergency services in Southern Denmark and Northern Germany, supported by Interreg Deutschland-Danmark to develop and strengthen their cooperation. ??The #Interreg project DanGer112 is the current cross-border emergency cooperation.?The project addresses two key cross-border tasks: ???? One is outdated legislation, regulations and cooperation agreements.? Key elements of the legislation that form the basis of cross-border emergency cooperation are up to 37 years old! ?? New agreements are needed to ensure efficient, smooth and result-orientated cross-border cooperation in emergency situations. With Interreg’s support, this project has introduced therapeutic art, nature-based activities, and smart furniture solutions for children in Estonia, Finland, Norway, Poland and Sweden - helping them feel safer, stronger, and more confident. ??? How can tourism benefit nature? The Interreg project VaBene, a Danish-German cooperation, wants to find out. The neighboring countries ???????? are both surrounded by water. It unites and therefore makes it crucial to protect the nature together. ?? The Wadden Sea is an invaluable contribution to the planet's nature and a major tourism destination in Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein (Northern Germany) alone with +20 million overnight stays annually. ?? The VaBene project will develop tourism through sustainable experiences as a way to better protect the unique nature of the area. The nature of the Wadden Sea area should benefit from tourism and not the other way around! This requires stakeholders to work together - on both sides of the border.
