The kind of healthy fighting that I treasure... the participants were passionate but respectful, informed but curious. As the final points were being made and the discussion approached what felt like a natural conclusion, a funny thing happened. Everyone looked at each other unclear of how to resolve the questions on the table. No one knew who was making the final call. Did the attendees have a vote on the matter? Very exciting news from Shoelace Learning (builders of Dreamscape) and CEO Julia Rivard Dexter, OLY, ICD.D! As student literacy reaches a crisis point, education leaders have a new solution to improve reading outcomes with same-year results. A recent pilot study by Shoelace and Michigan Virtual showed that game-based learning can significantly boost reading outcomes for students. Over just eight weeks, 42% of students using Shoelace’s literacy games saw 3+ months of reading growth. That’s huge! Teachers also reported increased student confidence, comprehension, fluency, and engagement. ??
