It's that time of year again! This week, Academic Rodeo kicked off in-person competitions with Mindset Breaking, where 328 students from 36 school groups competed. As part of our mission, we work to raise scholarship funds and support educational opportunities for students across East Texas. We look forward to welcoming the finalists back in January and celebrating their achievements.

Wow...that's a wrap on an incredible 108th East Texas State Fair! In June, we moved locations over to the Park of East Texas (POET) and starting digging up dirt. Four months later, the Fair brought together families who haven't been to the fair in years, couples celebrating anniversaries, friends who enjoy spending time with each other, and organizations looking to support our community. We had an incredible turnout and want to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us. From our Marketing Director Mintie Betts: Despite having to make some hard changes like temporarily moving the livestock show to Athens and adjusting to infrastructure limitations, our community showed up! This pivotal move has made an impression on East Texas and shows the importance of resilience and perseverance. I look forward to many more years as we continue to grow this organization and our community. See you September 18 - 28, 2025!

Tuesday evening, we welcomed our community partners to see the new home of the East Texas State Fair. We want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate this milestone and new opportunities! From President/CEO Cody Rosenbalm: Three months ago, we embarked on what seemed like an impossible mission: to relocate the largest event in East Texas in just 180 days. Now, today, we are at the halfway point - with just three months left to pull it off. What has been accomplished so far is a miracle. But there are still many hurdles to overcome. What has made this whole process special, is how the community is rallying together. Tuesday night, more than anything, was a showcase of that community support. As we write the next chapter of the East Texas State Fair, I believe that "community" will be the most important word. Thank you to our community - and everyone who has stepped up to get us this far! Ninety days and counting.
