Don't avoid it. OWN it. I hear entrepreneurs, business owners and brand leaders make the comment all the time: ???? ...that's just not my wheelhouse ???? ...that's not my zone of genius ???? ...I'm just going to delegate that The things that you're avoiding (digital ad campaigns & media buying, deep community building, content distribution, etc.) are the things that would lead to your brand exploding in the right circles.

????I’ve had the opportunity to work with a ton of young entrepreneurs and young professionals. A common trend I see is their buy-in, energy, and zeal towards an initiative outshining their skill. Now don’t get me wrong! You can’t teach passion. But there’s a nuanced balance of caring deeply enough about something to become a skilled communicator NOT in why it matters to you… …but why it should matter to other people. Keep building, Derek

Make it before you evaluate it. ????♂? ...I know entrepreneurs who’ve been “thinking” about dropping courses for over a year. ...others who’ve been considering how to position their media skills for several years. ...I know businesses that can barely get original ideas across the finish line because of the layers of thinking. It’s all slowing down your process of growth. And they all have strong opinions about how things should be done when it comes to other people’s / brands approaches. You know enough now to be YOUR type of communicator. YOUR type of marketer. Today. There are NO parameters—just seasonally shifting opinions that you shouldn’t be concerned about. Is there market fit? Is it working for others? Should I funnel hack them?? What’s the data say?? Is it too low quality?? Too high quality? Is the pricing structure right?? Over engineered? Right for this platform? Right for that orientation? Enough energy? Strong enough hook? Sound design? Bruhhhh. Do you. My gawd. It will make sense when you actually have stuff to look at, and touch, and evaluate, and compare, and test. Establish it today. Make it better tomorrow. — Derek

There are far too many successful people who are rooted and established in the world, but internally their spirit longs to express its true purpose on earth. I can't tell you how people I've talked to who are successful in their careers but then proceed to tell me about the thing they are REALLY excited and passionate about because it gives them fresh life and light! We often look at "success" from how well we navigate the professional systems of this world and where we rank in those systems according to our: 1) network size 2) financial gain 3) brand reputation 4) business accomplishments ...but there reality is, the most successful families are rooted in God's original design for them and their family.
