Celebration Alert! ?? We had an amazing time at our Topping Out party for PORTAL (3BC), the second multi-family building Essex has constructed in Eugene’s Downtown Riverfront. The event was filled with good food, door prizes, and great company. A huge thank you to all our partners who have contributed to this project so far and to those who will join us soon. During the party we also held a donation drive and raised over $5,000 for Food for Lane County. The Ponds on Alexander recently received a TCO for the first building and the clubhouse. The property owners have started giving unit tours and are preparing to make the units available for lease. Throwback Thursday: The Heron Building on the corner of 6th and Olive St. in Downtown Eugene is a mixed-use building that Essex constructed in 1999. Designed by PIVOT Architecture, the first floor includes retail stores, with offices on the floors above. The construction, consisting of three joined three-story buildings, was designed in the style of some early 1900’s Italian architects. The Heron building integrated wood framing with a steel structure, brick, and stucco exterior finishes.
