For Essex County to move forward TOGETHER, it's critical for us to LISTEN to and LEARN from the community. If you haven't had a chance to fill out our quick survey, we'd love to get YOUR thoughts about the challenges our region faces and where ECCF should focus our efforts in order to move the needle. 关于我们
Essex County Community Foundation inspires philanthropy that strengthens the communities of Essex County by managing charitable assets, strengthening and supporting nonprofits, and engaging in strategic community leadership initiatives. Since 1998, ECCF and its family of 230 charitable funds have granted over $85 million to nonprofits, schools and students in Essex County and beyond. Our ultimate goal is to have 34 thriving cities and towns in Essex County and to improve the quality of life for the region’s 750,000 residents. At ECCF, our focus is on our donors so our donors can focus on their giving. The Foundation offers a variety of funds to meet your philanthropic goals, and our staff can assist you in supporting your favorite organizations, both locally and beyond. The ECCF family of funds supports everything from the arts to hunger relief to youth at risk, and just about any cause you care about in between. ECCF offers personalized service, vast local knowledge and effective financial management of your assets. When you make the decision to give through ECCF, you become part of something bigger, as fund fees support the strategic and collaborative work of the Foundation. This includes our newest community leadership project, Impact Essex County, which aims to identify and move the needle on Essex County's most pressing regional challenges. We'd like to give a special shout out to our event sponsor Eastern Bank, who's always there for their community. "By distributing free computers, we are not just closing the digital divide, but are actively fostering a more inclusive future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.” - Jeff Williams of TEK Collaborative Congratulations to our friends at TEK Collaborative, an E-Recycling nonprofit based in Essex County and inclubated at ECCF, for being one of 36 community-based organizations to be awarded a grant from the City of Boston’s 2023-24 Digital Equity Fund, announced last week by the office of City of Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. This is the largest iteration of the program to date - more than $1.4 million in total - and is funded by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute at Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. Also receiving funding is nonprprofit Computers 4 People, a winner in the 2023 #DigitalEquityChallenge, hosted by ECCF and UMass Lowell. Closing the #DigitalDivide is imperative in #EssexCounty and across Massachusetts. And continued funding like this for the hardworking organizations that are making it happen on the ground is critical. https://lnkd.in/dNhSn8x5

Our friends at the Mass. Center for Native American Awareness (MCNAA) do incredible work preserving Native American cultural traditions; assisting Native American residents with basic needs and educational expenses; advancing public knowledge and understanding that helps dispel inaccurate information about Native Americans; and addressing inequities across the region. In honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day, we encourage you to visit their website to 1) explore the programming they offer to support Native American young people, families and elders 2) browse their list of suggested awareness activities for #IndigenousPeoplesDay (and throughout the year); and 3) read more about how you can support their efforts.
