In a previous 'fair use' lawsuit Four high school students vs. iParadigms, a plagiarism detection software company. The students alleged that iParadigms infringed on their copyrights by storing their papers in a database without their permission. The court held that iParadigms' use of the student papers was fair use. It was for a transformative purpose (detecting plagiarism) and did not harm the market for the students' papers. The potential that OpenAI has merit in their response is high when you cite.

The Office of the Governor of California published the report "Benefits and Risks of Generative Artificial Intelligence Report" outlining the potential benefits and hashtag#risks that generative hashtag#AI could bring to the state's government. While this report was a requirement under California's Executive Order N-12-23, the findings could be applied to any other state, government, or organization using #generativeAI.? The report starts providing a comparison between conventional hashtag#artificialintelligence and generative AI. Then, it lists six major case uses for the hashtag#technology: 1. Improve the performance, capacity, and efficiency of ongoing work, research, and analysis through summarization and classification. By analyzing hundreds of millions of data points simultaneously, GenAI can create comprehensive summaries of any collection of artifacts and also categorize and classify information by topic, format, tone, or theme. 2. Facilitate the design of services and products to improve access to people’s diverse needs, across geography and demography. hashtag#GenAI can recommend ways to display complex information in a way that resonates best with various audiences or highlight information from multiple sources that is relevant to an individual person.? 3. Improve communications in multiple languages and formats to be more accessible to and inclusive of all residents. 4. Improve operations by optimizing software coding and explaining and categorizing unfamiliar code. 5. Find insights and predict key outcomes in complex datasets to empower and support decision-makers. 6. Optimize resource allocation, maximizing energy efficiency and demand flexibility, and promoting environmentally sustainable policies. On December 8, the California Privacy Protection Agency will meet to discuss several hashtag#privacy related proposals, including revisions to the California Consumer Privacy Act Regulations.? The main proposed revisions to the hashtag#CPPA are: - Add "personal information of consumers less than 16 years of age” as a new category of sensitive hashtag#personalinformation to harmonize it with the definition of hashtag#sensitivedata used by other jurisdictions (CT, DE, IN, IA, MT, OR, TN,TX, and VA). - Add language to clarify that a consumer shall be able to withdraw hashtag#consent at any time and that a consumer's failure to act doesn't imply consent. - Address the increases to monetary thresholds for various items in the CCPA based on the Consumer Price Index. - A new requirement for businesses to display the status of the consumer's choice in relation to hashtag#optout preference signals (this requirement was removed from a previous draft of the Regulations). - Add stronger language clarifying that the methods for a consumer to submit a request or to withdraw consent shall be tested to ensure that they are functional and don't undermine the consumer’s choice.? - Require businesses to describe in their hashtag#privacypolicy the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected in a manner that provides consumers a meaningful understanding. - Add the option to select a date range or to request 'all' personal information in a request to know to include personal hashtag#data collected prior to the 12-month period preceding the business’s receipt of the consumer’s request.? - When a business denies a consumer’s request in whole or in part, it must inform the hashtag#consumer that they can file a complaint with the hashtag#CPPA and the CA Attorney General and provide links to the complaint forms on their respective website ComplianceChronicle Our Expertise, Your Shield essert.io #cybernews #ProtectYourData? #seccompliance #personaldataprotection #ciso #cybersecurity h#cyberincident #cyberriskmanagement
