The aftermath of Hurricane Helene in the southeast is harrowing. Our hearts go out to all those affected, including our own ESO employees and their families. To the first responders, utility workers, and volunteers across the country: Thank you. Your dedication reminds us all of the courage of those who risk everything to keep us and our communities safe. While the recovery from this event will take months, even years, to fully complete, there are immediate ways you can contribute. We’d like to share the list of resources we recently provided to our employees seeking to do more. - Donate to organizations like the Red Cross, or local hurricane relief funds. You can also find local Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOADS). - North Carolina: Consider donating to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund or to the NORTH CAROLINA VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVE IN DISASTER, which has a list of vetted disaster relief organizations. https://lnkd.in/eJ4f88Vb - Florida: Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida activated the Florida Disaster Fund to help those affected by the hurricane. The fund helps people across Florida get help after an emergency or disaster. https://lnkd.in/eSwBnfy - Georgia: Send Relief, a nonprofit in the state, deployed resources to areas with the highest need. The organization was also working with national organizations to coordinate help. A number of national organizations were accepting donations to help states affected by the hurricane. Those organizations include The Salvation Army, the American Red Cross and Americares.
