?? ? #AEGDMV: Last week, the DMV Building Electrification Task Force successfully completed their 90-day sprint with the "AEG DMV Building Electrification Task Force Roundtable". Read more on the Task Force's results below: Task Force Lead: Josephine Tucker, JLL Co-Leads: Kristin Niver, Thompson Coburn LLP. & Greg Streiff, ESGx ? On June 18th, the Task Force committed to achieving this 90-day sprint: "Convene select stakeholders to develop a replicable win/win process for project dev/execution using a block-by-block approach, starting with these priority areas based on obsolescence risk, electrification/sustainability needs, and potential office conversion opportunities." ? On August 22nd, the Task Force convened a roundtable with investors, utility companies, and building owners to strategically electrify buildings in the Golden Triangle BID of DC. With rising office vacancies and multiple local amenities, The Golden Triangle has a unique opportunity for investment in energy efficient office conversions to accelerate decarbonization. ? Participants agreed on the Task Force's next 90 day-sprint: - Develop a public information deck for BIDs nationwide to aid in converting inefficient office buildings, including details on federal resources for improving efficiency. - Identify and share financing options for target area office properties to support sustainability improvements, and collaborate with the City Administrator to address regulatory or financial barriers. - Perform detailed case studies on four key buildings, examining current systems, constraints, and preferences, and consider a survey or focus group of building owners and developers. ? Proud to share that I had the privilege of attending the Advanced Energy Group DMV 24Q2 Stakeholder Challenge on Building Electrification held at the Holland & Knight LLP offices in Washington, DC. This event brought together an impressive group of public and private industry leaders to tackle one of the most critical issues of our time: #buildingelectrification. ??? It was a classy event with smart minds from various sectors, including policymakers, sustainability professionals, real estate owners, and investors. The collaboration and innovative thinking were truly inspiring. ?? We focused on identifying and addressing the biggest obstacles to building electrification in the DMV area to meet our #climate, #health, and #equity goals. The key themes included stakeholder collaboration, financial incentives, infrastructure development, and public engagement. ?? I’m honored to co-lead a Task Force alongside Josephine Tucker from JLL and Kristin Niver from Thompson Coburn LLP to implement our 90-day sprint and 12-month objectives. Our goal is to align investors with the opportunities presented by #energyefficient building #retrofits and drive meaningful progress. ?? Excited for the journey ahead and to work with such a dedicated and diverse team to make a lasting impact. Together, we can achieve sustainable development and pave the way for a greener future! ?? Thank you H.G. Chissell for your invitation to attend this impressive event. It was truly an honor. #Electrification #Sustainability #Decarbonization #ESG #ClimateAction #BuildingTheFuture

Welcome, #AEGDMV Building Electrification Task Force! Here are the volunteers who will work together on the 90-day sprint and 12-month objective listed below. Thank you for your leadership! Obstacle: “Regarding building electrification, to achieve DMV’s climate, health and equity goals, a critical obstacle to collectively overcome in 12 months is: To align investors with the opportunities presented today by energy efficient building retrofits, rather than waiting until tomorrow for the problem to go away.” - Josephine Tucker, JLL 90-Day Sprint: Convene select stakeholders to develop a replicable win/win process for project dev/execution using a block-by-block approach, starting with priority areas due to obsolescence risk and office to residence conversion opportunities. 12-Month Objective: Replicate block-by-block approach to include LIDAC communities that can benefit from GGRF $$ Thank you to these Task Force volunteers who will work to carry out the proposed 90-day sprint and 12-month objective: - Josephine Tucker, JLL (Co-Lead) - Kristin Niver, Thompson Coburn LLP (Co-Lead) - Greg Streiff, ESGx (Co-Lead) - Attiya Holt, INF Associates - Arash Zarmehr, PhD, EIT, LEED, ENV SP, WSP in the U.S. - Jay Wilson, RA, JLL - Sri Sekar, DC Green Bank - Ronald Hobson, DC Green Bank - David Sachs, PE, AKF Group - Jamie Donovan, Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) - Josh Lasky, The George Washington University - Mansi Talwar, C.E.M, LEED AP, The George Washington University - Yolanda Bonner, Building Innovation Hub - Patti Boyd, DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) - Luke Lanciano, The Tower Companies - Ryan Snow, U.S. Green Building Council - Pam Maines, ZeroEnergy - Tyler Wyka, The George Washington University Request an Invite to our next Stakeholder Challenge here: https://lnkd.in/ewTJbA2 #climate?#health?#equity?#energy?#resilience?#washingtondc #maryland #virginia?#building #electrification H.G. Please let us know if you are attending Advanced Energy Group's DMV event next month in Washington, DC. We'd love to connect with you!
I'm thrilled to share that I will be attending the Advanced Energy Group's Building #Electrification Challenge on June 18 in Washington, DC. This event is a fantastic opportunity to dive deep into the electrification of buildings and tackle the challenges that come with it. As the founder of ESGx, an all-in-one #ESG matchmaking platform, I'm particularly interested in exploring how emerging technologies and innovative solutions can be identified, vetted, and integrated with traditional electrification solutions such as #heatpumps to accelerate #decarbonization. ?? What I’m Looking Forward To: ?? Identifying Cutting-Edge Solutions: Discovering the latest trends and innovations in building electrification that can transform the way we approach sustainability. ? Addressing Vendor Selection Challenges: Engaging with industry experts to understand the key pain points in selecting and vetting vendors for electrification projects. ?? Collaboration Opportunities with Established Solution Providers: ESGx is always looking to expand its vendor network and seeking out best in class providers of ESG solutions. ?? Understanding Front-Runners: Gaining insights from stakeholders on the types of buildings and businesses that are leading the way in electrification. Very much appreciate the invite H.G. Chissell and excited to attend my first DMV Challenge. to anyone else attending, let’s connect! #BuildingElectrification #Sustainability #ESG #VendorSelection #NetZero #ClimateLeadership https://lnkd.in/eTXXgZZf
