As an intermediary educational agency, ESC Region 11 provides professional development, technical assistance, and management of educational programs to 76 public school districts, 17 public charter schools, 90 charter campuses, and 150 private schools. We serve a total of 592,249 total students and 77,517 educational personnel. With an area covering 10 counties of North Texas, Region 11 services an area of 7,843 square miles, roughly equal to the state of Massachusetts in size. School districts in this region range in size from Fort Worth Independent School District's large metropolitan schools to small rural districts with only one building housing a total of 80 students in grades K-9. The Service Center is centrally located in White Settlement, Texas, just west of Fort Worth, Texas, and is surrounded by many community and cultural resources.

    Today, we welcomed the Texas School Safety Center as they offered a new curriculum developed in partnership with Safe and Sound Schools and Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) that teaches students and staff age and ability-specific options for school safety during an active event. This training is based on Safe and Sound Schools' curriculum and ALERRT's Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).

    Yesterday marked an incredible October Professional Development Day at ESC Region 11, filled with opportunities for growth and collaboration! A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speaker, Jeff Nash, President of the American Association of School Customer Service, whose insights and passion inspired us all. We are also grateful to TRS for sharing a wealth of knowledge on wellness and enriching our lives both personally and professionally.
