?? ? Solidarity with Abahlali baseMjondolo We unequivocally condemn the violent evictions and racist attacks targeting poor Black communities in South Africa, particularly the courageous members of?Abahlali baseMjondolo, who continue to lead the fight for land, dignity, and justice. The recent evictions in Ballito, Umhlali, and other areas in KwaZulu-Natal highlight a?disturbing pattern of state-sanctioned violence, fueled by wealthy elites and militarized security forces, displacing communities for "development." This systemic violence is part of a global issue rooted in racism and economic exploitation. For years, Abahlali baseMjondolo has resisted evictions and advocated for grassroots solutions, envisioning a society where?land is a resource for building dignified lives, not a commodity for profit. Their demands— adequate housing, safety, and the right to live on the land— are enshrined in both South African and international law. We stand firmly with Abahlali baseMjondolo in demanding: ? An immediate end to evictions and state/private security violence. ? Accountability for the racist incitement by groups like the Dolphin Coast Residents & Ratepayers’ Association. ? Policies prioritizing?land redistribution, dignity, and essential services, not repression. ? This struggle is part of a larger movement for?economic, social, and cultural rights worldwide.?Together, we resist systemic racism, inequality, and exploitation, affirming that their struggle is our struggle. #SolidarityWithAbahlali #StopEvictions #LandJustice #HumanRights #EconomicJustice #EndRacism
